Covid-19 Is Also Raising the Death Toll From Opioids
During Covid, more people in the U.S. died from overdose than ever before. Over 81,000 people, about the number of people who can fill a football stadium, lost their lives from June 2019 through May 2020 alone. That’s the highest number of overdose deaths ever recorded in a single year. The impact has been staggering and only increased with the isolation of Covid.
